Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist with meal preparation, food safety, and maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in catering, cooking, and restaurant operations.
Duties
- Assist with food preparation and meal assembly in accordance with established recipes and standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen workstations, utensils, and equipment
- Follow food safety protocols to ensure hygiene standards are met at all times
- Help with inventory management, including stock rotation and storage organisation
- Support chefs with basic cooking tasks as directed
- Serve food to customers or staff in a courteous and professional manner when required
- Assist in washing dishes, pots, pans, and cleaning kitchen surfaces after use
- Ensure all health and safety regulations are adhered to during daily operations
Skills
- Previous experience in Indian catering, restaurant work, or food preparation is desirable but not essential
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently
- Willingness to learn new culinary techniques and procedures
- Basic understanding of kitchen safety protocols
