Role: Commercial Cleaning Operations Supervisor
Location: Although we cover work in Essex & Greater London, the majority of our sites are Brentwood, Basildon, Thurrock, Havering, Chelmsford & Surrounding Areas
Hours: 30+ Hours per week (30 minimum guaranteed)

Established in 2023, Simply Cleaning Essex is a growing commercial cleaning company offering services across Offices, Health Clubs, Communal Residential Developments, Showrooms, End of Tenancy Cleaning & Specialist projects.
We’ve grown significantly over the last few years and are now looking for the right person to join as we move into the next stage of that journey.

The Role:
This is not a purely office based management role, and it’s not just a cleaning role with a supervisor title!
We are looking for somebody who is happy to be hands-on whilst also taking responsibility for helping manage the day-to-day operation of the business.
Approximately 80% of the role will be site-based cleaning and operational support, with around 20% focused on supervision, recruitment, quality checks, staff support and operational administration.
As the company continues to grow, there will be opportunities to take on increasing levels of responsibility and progress within the business.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations & Supervision:
- Supporting the day-to-day operation of our cleaning contracts
- Helping ensure sites remain fully staffed and operational.
- Taking ownership of staffing challenges and helping find cover solutions where required.
- Supporting recruitment, interviews and onboarding of new team members.
- Training and supporting staff.
- Carrying out site audits and quality inspections.
- Maintaining strong relationships with clients and resolving issues when required.
- Assisting with rota planning, holiday management and staff communication.
- Supporting operational administration and record keeping.
- Managing site stock levels and consumables.
- Monitoring company equipment and machinery, ensuring it is maintained, cleaned and stored correctly.
- Looking for ways to improve standards, efficiency and service delivery.
Site Based Duties:
- Carrying out commercial cleaning duties across a range of sites.
- Supporting end of tenancy cleans and specialist cleaning projects.
- Assisting with holiday cover and operational cover when required.
- Supporting deep cleans and periodic cleaning works.
- Leading by example and maintaining high standards at all times.
Hours & Flexibility:
The role offers 30 guaranteed hours per week. The salary amount is based on 30 hours per week, and then any hours in addition to this will be paid hourly on top.
Due to the nature of the business, additional hours are regularly available and required through:
- Holiday cover
- Sickness cover
- End of tenancy cleans
- Deep cleans
- Specialist cleaning projects
Applicants should be flexible and willing to work additional hours when operationally required. In practice, hours will typically range between 30 and 40 hours per week.
Our contracts operate across a wide range of hours, with sites running between 6:00am and 2:00am. This role will involve working a minimum of 2 evenings per week.
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous commercial cleaning experience
- Reliable, organized and professional
- Confident using computers, email and basic office software
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Able to work independently and use initiative.
- Comfortable dealing with staff, clients and day-to-day operational issues.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable:
- Previous supervisory or management experience
- Experience recruiting, training or managing staff
- Experience within commercial cleaning, facilities management, hospitality or housekeeping
