Job Title: Hard Landscaper
Location: Surbiton, KT (must be local / willing to travel within SW London)
Hours: Full-time (40+ hrs/week) — Monday–Friday, occasional Saturday work available
Salary: Competitive — dependent on experience + overtime and travel pay
Overview:
We’re seeking an experienced, reliable Hard Landscaper to join our landscaping team. You will install and repair patios, fencing, decking and turfing to a high standard for domestic clients around Surbiton.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, repair and maintain patios (block paving, natural stone, slabs etc.)
- Build and repair fencing and garden boundaries (timber, panels, posts, gates)
- Construct and install decking (timber and composite)
- Prepare, lay and finish turf and hard landscaping sub-bases, drainage and edging
- Site setup, materials handling, safe use and maintenance of hand and powered tools
- Work from drawings and specifications; measure and set out accurately
- Liaise professionally with clients on site; ensure tidy site and rubbish removal
- Follow health & safety procedures, COSHH and safe manual handling
- Travel with company vehicle
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 3 years’ demonstrable experience in hard landscaping (patios, fencing, decking, turfing)
- Full, valid UK driving licence (clean preferred)
- Fluent spoken and written English
- Good knowledge of drainage, sub-base preparation and materials
- Ability to read site drawings and work independently or as part of a team
- Physically fit and able to lift heavy materials and work outdoors in all weather
Desirable:
- CSCS/Construction-related certification
- PA1/PA6 or pesticide/turfing experience
- First Aid at Work certificate
- Experience operating small plant (mini-digger, dumper)
