Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Care Assistant to join our reputable care home. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities and a genuine passion for providing high-quality care to our residents. This role involves supervising care staff, developing personalised care plans, and ensuring the wellbeing and comfort of all residents. The Senior Care Assistant will play a vital part in maintaining a positive, safe, and supportive environment within the care home.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and support care staff to deliver compassionate and professional care in accordance with organisational standards.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and review of personalised care plans tailored to each resident’s needs.
- Provide direct personal care to residents, including assistance with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility.
- Monitor residents’ health and wellbeing, reporting any concerns to healthcare professionals promptly.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe environment for residents and staff.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to foster a supportive community atmosphere.
- Assist with administrative duties using IT systems for record keeping and documentation purposes.
- Support new staff members through supervision and mentoring, promoting a cohesive team environment.
- Occasionally undertake driving duties to facilitate outings or appointments for residents.
Requirements
- Previous experience working within a care home or senior care setting is essential.
- Supervising experience or leadership skills are highly desirable.
- Knowledge of care plans, health & safety protocols, and safeguarding procedures.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with residents, families, and colleagues.
- Proficiency in IT systems used for documentation and record management.
- Valid driving licence is preferred for assisting with outings or appointments.
- Compassionate approach with a strong commitment to delivering person-centred care.

Pay: £12.80-£13.50 per hour
