As a Receptionist you are at the heart of your practice. You are the first point of contact for every customer. Welcoming them in, understanding how they are feeling, and making sure they have a great experience. You’ll know that first impressions count.
We are seeking a skilled Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice in providing excellent administrative support and customer service to our patients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in administrative and office tasks.
You’ll work side by side with every team member and build trust through your efficiency, accuracy, and people skills. You’ll be a great communicator. Able to talk clearly and calmly with every patient both in person and over the phone. And you’ll be able to handle any concerns and queries that patients have regarding the treatments on offer in the practice, including pricing and follow ups.
Lastly, this role offers excellent opportunities for advancement, enabling receptionists to potentially progress to the position of practice manager, provided they demonstrate good performance and growth.
Key responsibilities:
- Greet patients and visitors with a warm and friendly welcome
- Providing an exceptional patient journey both in person and over the phone
- Managing the diaries, appointments and making sure that the time is filled correctly
- Handle patient inquiries in person, over the phone, and via email
- Maintain patient records accurately and confidentially
- Working with the team to understand the full range of NHS and Private treatment options available within the practice
- Completing relevant forms for NHS and private schemes within a specified timescale
- Taking payments and cashing up for the day
- Liaising with dental laboratories, supply companies and other organisations
Key skills and experience:
- Ability to easily build rapport, and work to a high level of customer service
- Ability and passion to build your knowledge of treatment options within the dental sector – becoming an expert on what your practice has to offer!
- Passionate about driving the success of the practice by seizing opportunities
- Able to follow processes and work in a structured and organised way
- Previous experience with promoting company products and services
- Strong attention to detail
- An excellent team player
- Knowledge of dental terminology is advantageous but not essential
- Strong communication skills face to face, via telephone and email (essential)
- Basic maths skills for daily cashing up(essential)
- Ability to be positive and professional in a fast-paced - Able to show resilience and always work in a composed manner(essential)
- Previous administration or receptionist experience, preferably within a healthcare setting-2 years minimum (essential)
- IT skills and proficiency with Microsoft excel with overall strong organisation skills. (essential)
- Ability to adapt and learn iSmile software. (essential)
