We are an established training provider with over 26 years’ experience supporting young people aged 16–19 across South London and Surrey. Our mission is to help learners progress in education, develop essential life skills, and prepare for employment and adulthood.
You will be supported by Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) and will play a key role in fostering a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment where learners can thrive academically and personally.
This is an ideal opportunity for either an experienced construction tutor or someone from the construction industry looking to move into education and make a meaningful difference through their work.
JOB TITLE Construction Tutor (Multi Skills)
What You'll Do
- Deliver engaging practical and theory-based sessions across a range of construction trades
- Work creatively and assertively to engage hard to reach young people.
- Develop high quality schemes of work, lesson plans, and teaching resources that meet curriculum requirements.
- Equip young people with essential construction skills, as well as personal, social, and employability skills to help them progress into sustained employment or further training.
- Manage a workload and contribute to achieving key performance indicators, including qualification achievement, attendance, and learner progression.
- Develop knowledge of the needs of the learners in class and seek advice from the SENCO.
- Support the emotional and social development of students, reporting any concerns to the Safeguarding Lead.
- Maintain a safe, organised and positive workshop environment promoting excellent health & safety standards
Who We're Looking For
- A motivated and adaptable construction professional with excellent communication skills, and a genuine passion for helping young people overcome barriers and reach their potential.
- Teaching qualification / A willingness to work towards (PTLLS/Cert Ed/PGCE/Assessor Award or equivalent).
- Recent industry experience in bricklaying, carpentry, electrics or similar

The salary advertised is the bracket available for this position. The actual salary paid will be dependent on your level of experience, qualifications and skill set.
