As Conference & Banqueting Assistant Manager at Shrigley Hall Hotel & Spa, you will be part of a unique historic country house hotel set within stunning Cheshire countryside, renowned for weddings, conferences, and memorable events.
You will support the smooth delivery of all meetings, conferences, weddings, and banqueting events across the hotel.
Working closely with the Conference & Banqueting Manager and wider operations team, you will ensure every event runs seamlessly from initial setup through to guest departure.
This is a hands on, fast-paced role where no two days are the same, ideal for someone who thrives in a busy hospitality environment and takes pride in delivering outstanding service.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the planning and delivery of all conference, banqueting, and event operations
- Ensure rooms and event spaces are set to brand standards and client specifications
- Act as a key point of contact for clients during events, ensuring a smooth guest experience
- Supervise and support the C&B team during service, leading by example on shift
- Work closely with kitchen, reception, and operations teams to ensure effective communication
- Quickly resolve any operational issues or guest concerns in a professional manner
- Assist with team training, development, and performance management
- Maintain high standards of health & safety, hygiene, and compliance
- Support stock control and ensure equipment and set-ups are maintained to a high standard
- Drive continuous improvement in service delivery and guest satisfaction
About You
- Previous experience in a hotel conference, banqueting, or food & beverage supervisory role
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple events at once
- Confident communicator with excellent customer service skills
- Natural ability to lead, motivate, and support a team
- Calm under pressure and solution-focused
- High attention to detail and strong operational awareness
- Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and peak event periods
