About the Role
We are looking for a reliable, motivated, and experienced Team Leader/Supervisor to join our business.
We are a small team of six carrying out (amongst other things) grounds maintenance, path clearance, landscaping, fencing, and tree work for domestic, commercial, agricultural, and local authority clients, including Wiltshire Council.
This is a hands-on role. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day running of the team while also working alongside staff to ensure work is completed efficiently, and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the team.
- Organise daily workloads and ensure jobs are completed on time and to specification.
- Work alongside the team carrying out grounds maintenance, landscaping, fencing, path clearance etc.
- Ensure all works are completed safely and in accordance with company procedures.
- Carry out site quality checks of jobs and rectify if necessary.
- Liaise professionally with clients, council representatives, and members of the public on occasion.
- Monitor staff performance and provide support, training, and guidance where required.
- Ensure vehicles, machinery, tools, and equipment are maintained and used correctly.
- Complete any paperwork, site records, and job reports (this will be minimal).
- Report directly to the business owners regarding progress, issues, and resource requirements.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, fencing, tree work, or a similar outdoor environment.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Ability and confidence to tow trailers safely and legally.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions on site.
- Willingness to be hands-on and work as part of the team.
- Have some knowledge of vehicles and machines to do basic repairs when required.
Desirable Skills and Qualifications
- Experience operating plant and machinery such as excavators, dumpers, loaders, flails, and tractors.
- Chainsaw qualifications.
- PA1 and PA6 spraying certificates.
- First Aid qualification.
- Some knowledge of building work and timber (e.g. building sleeper walls, decking, platforms)

Pay: £32,000.00-£39,000.00 per year
