Diverse Services is seeking a dedicated and experienced Service Manager to join our team. This role is vital in ensuring the day-to-day excellence of our units, focusing on staff performance, service user welfare, and independent living support.
Job Summary
As a Service Manager, you will provide effective leadership to a multidisciplinary staff team to deliver high-quality, empathetic support to service users. Reporting to the Head of Operations, you will be responsible for specific units and manage direct reports, including Senior and Support Workers. Your goal is to help service users live as independently as possible while maintaining professional relationships with all stakeholders.
- Salary: £32,000 per annum.
- Hours: 36 hours per week.
- Annual Leave: 20 days plus 8 Bank Holidays.
- Location: West London.
Responsibilities
The Service Manager oversees a wide range of operational and clinical duties, including:
- Staff Management: Directing staff (including Deputy, Recovery, and Support Workers), reviewing monthly rotas within budget, and conducting performance appraisals.
- Service User Support: Working directly with service users to develop and evaluate SMART support plans and risk management strategies.
- Communication: Facilitating clear shift handovers, attending service user meetings, and maintaining effective dialogue with external stakeholders like social services and clinical teams.
- Quality & Safety: Monitoring the cleanliness and maintenance of the units, ensuring fire safety standards are met, and following all safeguarding policies for vulnerable adults.
- Finance: Managing unit budgets in liaison with the Head of Operations and ensuring welfare benefits for service users are claimed on time.
Experience
We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate the following through their application:
- Proven Track Record: Significant experience in adult social care and successful experience managing staff and quality-assured services.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of complex needs, mental health, and/or learning disabilities, as well as health and safety legislation.
- Key Skills: Strong IT skills, excellent written and verbal communication, and the ability to maintain partnerships with Local Authorities and clinical teams.
- Qualifications: A recognized Health, Housing, or Social Care qualification is desirable.
