Vision for Education are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioural Support Assistant to work within a school in Birmingham.
The Role:

We are looking for a caring, patient, and resilient Behavioural Support Assistant to become part of our committed team within a specialist primary school for pupils with a variety of complex needs. These may include social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) difficulties, communication challenges, and additional learning needs. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting young people and making a meaningful impact on their educational and personal development through consistent guidance, encouragement, and understanding.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to deliver tailored behaviour support strategies that meet the individual needs of each pupil. You will play an important role in helping children develop emotional regulation, positive behaviours, and healthy relationships. This will involve providing support both inside and outside the classroom, encouraging engagement in learning, and helping to create a safe, structured, and nurturing environment where every child feels respected, valued, and able to thrive.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1-1 and small-group behavioural support for pupils.

Use a range of approaches to help pupils develop self-regulation, resilience and positive coping strategies.

Support pupils during lessons to help them remain engaged, focused and safe.

Build positive, trusting relationships with students to encourage participation and improve well-being.

Adapt learning strategies to meet individual needs and individual learning plans.

About you:
To be considered for the Behaviour Support Assistant role, you will:
Hold suitable qualifications such as Youth Work, Health and Social Care or Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools are desired but not essential.
Have strong communications skills with the ability to quickly build rapport with students
Able to obtain suitable references and a DBS check.
