Job requirements
Summary of position
Responsible for the smooth transition of service users whilst in the care of Antonine Court.
Please note: Antonine Court support Vulnerable individuals therefore all staff should have all Covid Vaccines or be willing to get and continue to keep up to date with. This will be part of your contract. There is a pay increment to benefit this.
Duties and responsibilities
- You must carry out vehicle checks on a daily basis in accordance with the vehicle check sheet and return this to your line manager.
- Vehicle log books are used to record all journeys made by Antonine vehicles, A vehicle log book must be kept on the vehicle or handed in to the manager’s office. When the log book is full it should then be returned to your line manager and a new book will be issued.
- When a repair or service is required on your allocated vehicle you must complete a vehicle defect form and pass this to your manager immediately.
- In the event of an accident involving an Antonine vehicle you must adhere to the Antonine Accident reporting procedure. A motor accident form or/and incident report form must be completed. All road traffic accident must be reported within 24 hours, no matter how insignificant.
- Antonine vehicles should contain at least half a tank of fuel at all times as good practice but never less than a quarter of a tank at any time. Vehicles can be refuelled at allocated petrol station. Utilising the correct payment facility
- A copy of your driving licence must be provided and must be in date. It is the staff member’s responsibility to ensure driving licence is in date. Any medication or medical conditions that may cause harm or hazard or affect your ability to drive should be reported to your line manager.
- All Antonine vehicle contain a first aid kit. It is driver’s responsibility to ensure these are replenished when required.
- Observe speed limits and obey road signs
- Ensure all passengers are safely seated and strapped in
- Assist service users to get off/on the bus safely
- Ensure all wheelchairs are safely secured
- Vehicle must be cleaned at least once a week
- Attend team meetings and training relevant to post or when requested by senior manager
- Prepare the best routes known for driving being aware of changes to road conditions/weather/roadworks
- Present licence to be checked quaterly
- Any other reasonable request by management team
- Follow company policy and procedures when carrying out duties
