Overview
We are seeking another trusted individual to join our award-winning team, who has the qualities and attributes needed to work alongside our and dedicated administrative and clinical staff team.
The right candidate will be customer focussed with a common-sense approach, able to multi-task and work well in a team and independently, possess strong organisational and communication skill, and proficiency in various office software.
The working hours shifts either commence at 8.00am and/or finish at 6.30pm, depending on part time or full-time hours. We can offer some flexibility to the right person.
Main duties of the job
As a Patient Care Advisor (PCA) you will provide reception and administrative support to the clinical team to ensure patients are signposted to the appropriate practice services or external services. To carry out various administrative tasks which include; assisting the duty clinician, communicating with patients by telephone and at the reception desk, email communications, scanning and various administrative tasks. You will be fully supported by a friendly and innovative team, and develop new skills along the way.
Duties
- Organise and manage administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and filing medical documents
- Communicate professionally and efficiently at all times, providing information or directing enquiries to appropriate personnel.
- Utilise computer skills to update electronic health records using programmes like Microsoft Office, Emis where applicable
- Support the clinical team with administrative triage tasks

Skills
- Previous office experience or administrative background essential, NHS experience is advantageous.
- Proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). Emis Web and other healthcare IT systems is an advantage
- Experience with data entry, clerical tasks, and managing electronic records is desirable
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently
- Strong phone etiquette and communication skills for professional interactions with patients and staff
- Typing speed and accuracy to facilitate efficient documentation processes
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Compassionate attitude with a focus on patient care and confidentiality
