Bass Guitar Tutor – The Rock Project Shrewsbury & TelfordJob Overview
The Rock Project is seeking a passionate, energetic and reliable Bass Guitar Tutor to join our music education team from the beginning of the new school year.
We are looking for a young professional who is currently working within the music industry, actively performing, or has recently graduated from a music-related course. The successful candidate will deliver engaging bass guitar tuition to young musicians across our Shrewsbury and Telford sessions, helping students build confidence, develop their playing and enjoy being part of a band.
This is not just a one-to-one teaching role. Our sessions are social, energetic and performance-focused, so we are looking for someone with an outgoing personality who can help raise the vibe in the room, encourage students and contribute to the positive atmosphere that The Rock Project is known for.
The role is expected to begin in September, with approximately five teaching hours available per week across our current Shrewsbury and Telford student numbers. There is also genuine opportunity for the right person to take on more responsibility over time, including progression into an Assistant Manager or Manager role, with increased hours and pay.

- Help bring energy, enthusiasm and a strong sense of community to every session.
- Promote a safe, professional and inclusive environment for all students.

- A confident and capable bass guitarist with a strong understanding of practical playing skills and music theory.
- Currently working in the music industry, actively performing, or recently graduated from a music-related course.

- Experience supporting students with special educational needs would be highly desirable.
- An outgoing, approachable and encouraging personality, with the ability to engage young people and help create a great session atmosphere.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt teaching techniques for students with different abilities and learning styles.
- Organised, reliable and able to commit to scheduled weekly term-time sessions.
- A genuine passion for music education and helping young people grow in confidence through music.
