Overview
We are seeking a professional HGV Driver Class 1 to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods, primarily utilising curtain / coil trailers for various delivery routes . This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers with a strong background in commercial driving and delivery operations to contribute to a reputable organisation committed to safety and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Operate HGV Class 1 vehicles, including curtain side lorries, in compliance with all road safety and traffic regulations
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and report any issues promptly
- Secure loads effectively on curtain trailers, ensuring safety during transit
- Plan routes efficiently to meet delivery schedules while adhering to legal driving hours
- Deliver goods to various locations, maintaining professionalism and excellent customer service throughout the process
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance needs using app on phone.
- Follow all company policies regarding health and safety, where applicable
Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 1 licence with a clean driving record all cards up to date.
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices in vehicle operation
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Good physical fitness to handle loading and securing cargo.
- Experience with delivery driver responsibilities is highly desirable
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision whilst maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism
Pay: £150.00 per day
