About the Role:
As a Sports Maintenance Operative, you will be responsible for the upkeep of high-quality sports turf. Your duties will include operating ride-on mowers, strimmers, and rollers to ensure the pitches are in pristine condition. This role requires working Monday to Friday, with alternate Saturdays. When working a Saturday, you will receive a day off in lieu during the week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and prepare cricket and football pitches to a high standard.
- Operate ride-on mowers, strimmers, and rollers.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of equipment.
- Ensure the grounds are safe and presentable for use.
- Collaborate with the team to meet maintenance schedules.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times.
Requirements:
Essential -
- Proven experience in grounds maintenance or a similar role.
- Ability to pass an Enhanced DBS check for working with vulnerable adults and children.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Desirable -
- Experience with sports turf maintenance.
- Familiarity with cricket and football pitch requirements.
- Basic knowledge of horticulture.
