We are seeking a Live-In Care Professional to support a wonderful lady who enjoys a great dry sense of humour, values genuine companionship, and is keen to build a positive relationship with her care team. Having achieved a great deal throughout her life, she is now focused on enjoying life, maintaining her independence, and continuing to live comfortably in her own home.
This is a unique opportunity to become an important part of someone's life whilst enjoying an excellent work-life balance. The lady attends a day centre three full days each week, providing you with significant downtime and personal time during your placement.
Job Purpose
To provide high-quality live-in care and support that enables clients to remain safely in the comfort of their own homes whilst maintaining their independence, dignity, privacy, and choice.
As a Live-In Care Professional, you will become part of the household and wider family network whilst always maintaining appropriate professional boundaries. You will work in accordance with individual care plans, risk assessments, company policies, CQC regulations, and current best practice guidance.
This role requires compassion, professionalism, flexibility, and the confidence to work independently.
Key ResponsibilitiesPersonal Care
- Support with bathing, washing, dressing, and personal hygiene.
- Assist with continence care and toileting.
- Support with mobility and transfers where required.
- Encourage and promote independence at every opportunity.
Medication Support
- Administer, prompt, or assist with medication as outlined in care plans.
- Maintain accurate medication records.
- Report any medication concerns promptly and appropriately.
Nutrition and Hydration
- Prepare nutritious meals in line with dietary requirements and preferences.
- Encourage healthy eating and adequate hydration.
- Monitor food and fluid intake where required.
Household Support
- Laundry and ironing.
- Light housekeeping and maintaining a safe, clean environment.
- Shopping and running errands.
- Changing bedding and general household tasks.
Companionship and Wellbeing
- Provide emotional support, companionship, and reassurance.
- Encourage hobbies, interests, and social engagement.
- Support the client to maintain meaningful relationships with family and friends.
- Promote independence, confidence, and overall wellbeing.
Record Keeping
- Complete daily care records accurately and professionally.
- Report incidents, accidents, safeguarding concerns, and changes in wellbeing.
- Communicate effectively with the office team, family members, and healthcare professionals.
Professional Responsibilities
- Adhere to all My Homecare Chelmsford policies and procedures.
- Work in line with CQC Fundamental Standards.
- Maintain confidentiality and GDPR compliance.
- Attend mandatory training, supervision, and team meetings.
