Overview
We are seeking a friendly and professional Server to join our Kirkwall Hotel team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering exceptional guest service, ensuring a memorable dining experience. Duties
- Welcome guests warmly and take their orders accurately and efficiently
- Serve food and beverages in accordance with company standards
- Ensure guest satisfaction by providing attentive and personalised service
- Upsell menu items to maximise sales opportunities
- Handle payments accurately using the POS system
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the serving area
- Assist with food preparation and basic kitchen duties as needed
- Follow all food safety and hygiene regulations diligently
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders
- Address guest inquiries or concerns promptly to ensure a positive dining experience
Experience
- Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant service is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Knowledge of food safety standards and basic food preparation techniques is advantageous
- Familiarity with serving procedures, guest services, and upselling strategies is beneficial
- Strong organisational skills with excellent time management abilities
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a busy environment
- Good communication skills and a friendly demeanour are essential for providing outstanding guest service
- Basic maths skills are necessary for handling payments accurately
