Scunthorpe Orthodontics are looking for a IV sedation qualified dental nurse to join us on a flexible, ad-hoc basis to assist with our minor oral surgery sedation service.
Sessions are anticipated to run approximately once a month on a Friday, though the exact schedule may vary depending on patient demand and clinical need. We are looking for someone who can offer availability on these days and who is comfortable working within a small, friendly specialist team. We would be able to provide upcoming dates several months in advance to help plan availability.
What you'll be doing:
- Assisting the clinical team during conscious IV sedation procedures for minor oral surgery patients
- Monitoring and supporting patients throughout sedation appointments
- Preparing and maintaining the clinical environment and equipment in line with protocols
- Completing accurate and timely clinical records
- Ensuring all sedation procedures meet current CQC and GDC standards
What we're looking for:
- GDC-registered dental nurse with a recognised sedation qualification (e.g. NEBDN Certificate in Dental Sedation Nursing or equivalent)
- Demonstrable experience in conscious sedation settings, ideally within an oral surgery or specialist environment
- Current, valid CPR/BLS certification
- A reliable, professional approach with attention to detail
- Flexibility to work on an ad-hoc basis, with availability on Fridays
Rate of pay:
To be discussed directly with the successful candidate. Remuneration will reflect your level of experience and your availability.
