Job Summary
Responsible for organising the safe and efficient receipt, storage, movement, dispatch of product and equipment throughout the facility. Lead, motivate and develop a multifunctional team resolving issues and serving as a link between operatives and management to help deliver operational KPI’s.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensuring that for their area risk assessments, regular inspections and audits are carried out.
- Ensuring that the operations under their control are, as far as is reasonably practicable, conducted without detriment to the health and safety of employees or others who may be affected by their activities.
- Ensuring that the Safety Management System is effectively implemented within their areas of responsibility.
- Implement and maintain workplace precautions suitable to the working environment and as identified in risk assessments.
- Ensuring that all accidents, incidents and near misses reported to them are documented and investigated correctly.
- Provide suitable levels of information, instruction, training, and supervision to employees in their area. ensuring that it is comprehensible and understood by the person to whom it is addressed.
- Ensure effective communication through their departments of Health & Safety activities.
- Maintaining safety discipline within their area of responsibility.
- Ensuring that any remedial actions that are beyond their scope of authorisation are brought to the attention of their immediate superior.
- Provide feedback on performance, including successes and failures of plans or precautions against KPI’s.
- Ensure that quality objectives and delivery deadlines are met.
- Lead, develop and coach Operational staff
- Coordinating drivers, vehicles and loads, ensuring documentation is completed as defined by SOPs.
- Monitoring stock levels and reporting any storage issues.
- Carry out daily inspections of operational areas.
- Ensure waste throughout the operation is controlled safely and efficiently.
- Plan workload, allocate tasks and monitor progress against targets.
- Ensure effective cross-training amongst all staff
- Carry out and attend various meetings and action/communicate instructions.
- Implement and manage key performance indicators for the warehouse.
- Carry out WPIs to ensure site is kept safe and procedures are being followed.
- Support W/H and logistics manager in the day to day running of Warehouse and deputise when necessary
- Carry out reasonable additional tasks as requested
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
- 3 + years’ experience in a Warehouse led role managing a team of operatives. Applicants with equivalent qualifications are welcome to apply.
- Proficient knowledge of warehouse procedures and policies.
- Experience in managing temperature-controlled storage facility.
- Ability to plan ahead and deal with unexpected changes.
- Understanding of manufacturing supply chain.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft office.
- Strong leadership and man management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Good written and verbal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work with a variety of cross functional team members.
- Current or previous licenses for counterbalance, flexi truck and power pallet trucks.
- Understanding of ERP systems such as SAP, Fresh ware, D365.
