Job description
We are looking to hire National Grid Wiremen for a major NG project based in North Swansea. We are looked for experienced Wiremen to work on a Substation upgrade project in West Ham. The project is ongoing and due to last until April 2026.
Duties will include -
The installation of HV plant and apparatus at all voltage levels from 33Kv to 400Kv,
Including busbars and connectors, switchgear, transformers ground earthing, hot tinning, mechanical bending/forming, erection of aluminium and steel structures as well as the installation of cables.
Gland and terminating multicore and power cables to meet client standards.
Understand and be conversant in red and green drawings and apply modifications as required. Install labels and interlocks including electrical interlocks. Wire control panels.
Resolve problems on site in conjunction with the site supervisor/managers ensuring all site procedures are being followed.
Maintain strict adherence to safety and relevant industry standards
The shifts run Monday - Friday, Overtime available when required.
Pay Rate - £34.00 per hour PAYE
We are looking to hear from people with the following minimum skill set,
- Previous experience as a Wiresman
- Must hold National Grid - Person Substation
- Must hold EUSR SHEA Power
- Slinger/Signaller (CPCS or NPORS with CSCS Hologram)
- Emergency First Aid at Work
- COSHH Awareness
- Fire Safety Awareness
- Manual Handling
- CV Required
