We're looking for a Systems Support Manager to lead the management, integrity, and performance of systems and asset data across the Sussex Route, with this post being responsible for Brighton delivery unit reporting to the Area Services Manager.
This is a critical role at the heart of operational success - ensuring our systems are accurate, reliable, and enabling informed decision-making within Brighton Delivery Unit. You will act as the expert in data quality and system performance , providing leadership, insight, and continuous improvement.
You will play a key role in ensuring the data that underpins our railway is accurate, trusted, and actionable - enabling better decisions, improving performance, and supporting a safe and reliable service for passengers.
What you'll be doing
Take the lead in driving effective system and database management within Brighton Delivery Unit. You will provide expert guidance and support on the use of systems and asset data, ensuring information is accurate, current and trusted, and that systems are managed to the highest standards.
What You'll Do
- Take ownership of the upgrade, maintenance, optimisation and day to day use of all systems and databases across the delivery unit, ensuring they remain robust, reliable and fit for purpose.
- Provide clear direction, hands on support and briefings to colleagues on the effective use of systems and data, building confidence and capability across the unit.
- Coordinate and collate information from delivery teams and third party providers, ensuring systems and databases are always populated with accurate, up to date information.
- Champion data quality and governance , ensuring all systems meet corporate standards and compliance requirements.
- Lead the integrated risk management process , informing the owner of the Active Risk Manager database of any required changes to support informed decision making.
- Proactively identify, investigate and resolve system and data issues that impact operational performance.
- Monitor, audit and report on data accuracy, timeliness and integrity, ensuring information can be trusted and relied upon.
- Provide high quality information and insight to support the delivery of business plans, improvement initiatives and project work .
- Produce analysis and management reports to support maintenance delivery, making clear, evidence based recommendations where management action is required.
- Maintain accurate and timely updates to all relevant systems, databases and records , including the Hazard Directory.
Salary: Band 4B / £35,582-£42,218
This is a full-time permanent position.
Candidates must live within a 90-minute commute to Three Bridges Cover House, as this role is expected to support Stakeholders around the Brighton Delivery unit area and there will be some requirement to travel to sites within the Delivery unit area from time to time. This requirement may be dynamic so ability to reach those locations at relatively short notice is key. There may be potential options for more flexible working in the future, but initially in the first six to twelve months it is expected that there will be large degree of onsite working during the training and familiarisation phase of this role to ensure success.

We're looking for someone who can demonstrate the following essential & desirable criteria:
- Strong knowledge of maintenance systems and data management
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders
- Highly organised with a strong attention to detail
Desirable
- Understanding of maintenance delivery processes
- Knowledge of systems like MyWork, MyIM, Ellipse and Business Objects.
- Experience in coaching or developing others
