An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Technician in Carpentry to join our Construction team at Cardiff and Vale College.
This role focuses on supporting the delivery of high-quality practical learning experiences for students studying carpentry and joinery. You will work closely with lecturing staff to prepare materials, equipment and learning environments, ensuring sessions run safely and effectively.
You will play a key role in supporting learners during practical sessions, helping them to develop their skills and confidence while maintaining a safe and well-organised workshop environment.
The position requires a proactive and flexible approach, with the ability to work across multiple sites and support a range of learners and curriculum activities.
You will have a Level 2 or 3 qualification in Carpentry or Bench Joinery, alongside relevant industry experience and knowledge of current health and safety regulations.
You will be competent in the use of woodworking machinery and have the ability to support learners in developing practical skills. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage equipment, stock and workshop environments effectively are essential.
You will also demonstrate excellent communication skills and be able to work both independently and as part of a wider team.
While the ability to speak Welsh is not essential, we welcome applications from candidates who can communicate through the medium of Welsh.
The role will involve working across College campuses and may include occasional evening or weekend working.
