Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Labourer to join our team at Select Builders and Carpentry, supporting a variety of outdoor and construction-related projects. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in general building needs, newbuilds, renovations, agricultural builds and groundworks with the ability to operate a range of tools and machinery. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in construction, maintenance, and environmental care within a dynamic work environment.
Duties
- Operating hand tools, power tools, and irrigation systems to support project requirements
- Using mechanical equipment including excavators for excavation and site preparation
- Conducting routine maintenance on tools and machinery to ensure safety and efficiency
- Supporting construction activities by moving materials, digging trenches, and preparing sites
- Ensuring work areas are kept clean and organised in compliance with health and safety standards
Qualifications
- Mechanical knowledge related to the operation and maintenance of power tools and machinery such as excavators
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Basic understanding of irrigation systems and general site maintenance procedures
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks
- Strong teamwork skills with a proactive attitude towards learning new skills
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in construction or horticulture are advantageous but not essential
