Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Food and Beverage Assistant to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible to deliver a courteous and friendly service to the guests of the Hotel in line with the standard operating procedures of the Hotel.
About Food and Beverage Assistant Role
- To take the orders accurately from guests and enter the order into the Micros terminal.
- To have a good knowledge of Food & Beverage operations, the menu (food & beverages) and standard operating procedures within the outlet
- To ensure that correct operating standards are adhered to in order to achieve the level of service established in the Departmental Operations Manual.
- To assist in the preparation of sufficient and clean, operating equipment prior to the commencement of service.
- To collect and deliver orders from the back-area/kitchens and serve them according to the standard operating procedures of the Hotel
- To control the stocking of operating equipment in the stations during service, and ensure that the station is maintained in a clean and tidy manner at all times.
- To clear and re-lay the tables accordingly.
- To collect any stores when required.
- To greet and seat guests if and when necessary.
- To cashier when necessary.
- To have a complete understanding of the Hotel’s Employee Handbook and adhere to the regulations contained within.
- To respond to any changes in the department as dictated by the needs of the industry, company or hotel operation.
- To be flexible and extend job duties to carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities within the job capability as assigned, including redeployment to alternative departments/areas if required, to meet business demands and guest service needs.
- To attend training sessions and meetings as required.
- To be fully conversant on telephone skills, standards and procedures.
- To be fully aware of the work schedule and ensure adequate notice is given in circumstances when prevented from adhering to the schedule.
Experience
- Previous experience in a busy restaurant or kitchen setting is preferred but not essential.
- Basic maths skills are necessary for handling transactions and managing inventory effectively.
- A background in hospitality is desirable.
- Knowledge of food safety practices is highly desirable, ensuring that all food handling meets industry standards.
