Transport Administrator
Location: Northampton
We are looking for a motivated and organised Transport Administrator to join our busy Transport Office team based in Northampton.
About the Role
This is a varied and fast-paced role within our transport operation, supporting the Transport Manager and helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the office. The successful candidate will be confident communicating with both internal teams and external customers while maintaining excellent organisation and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately input and maintain transport-related data
- Carry out general office duties including filing, answering calls, and responding to emails
- Handle internal and external queries promptly and professionally
- Produce reports as required
- Support the Transport Manager with daily administrative tasks
- Assist with vehicle and driver routing/scheduling when required, including stock transfers
Skills & Experience Required
- Excellent customer service skills
- Professional and confident telephone manner
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Good computer literacy and working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Ability to work effectively under pressure
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team
Previous experience within a transport or logistics environment would be advantageous, but is not essential, as full training will be provided.
