Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced HGV2 Refuse / Recycling Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial driving, particularly with refuse vehicles. This role involves collecting waste / recycling, safely and efficiently in various locations while adhering to all traffic regulations and company policies. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to safety and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Operate refuse / recycling lorries for the safe transport of waste.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
- Load and unload recycling, ensuring proper securing of items for transport.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation as required.
- Follow all traffic laws and regulations while on the road.
- Communicate effectively.
- Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the lorry.
Skills
- Proven experience as a HGV refuse / recycling driver or in a similar role, preferably with refuse vehicles.
- Valid commercial driving licence with a clean driving record.
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and traffic laws.
- Excellent time management skills to meet delivery deadlines.
- Ability to handle physical demands of the job, including lifting heavy items when necessary.
