We're a specialist electrical contractor based in Harpenden, and we're looking for an experienced electrician who wants to do work they're genuinely proud of.
We work on high-end residential properties, listed buildings, prestige estates, and garden lighting installations across Hertfordshire and North London. The jobs are varied, the sites are interesting, and the standard we hold ourselves to is high. If you're used to cutting corners to hit a programme, this probably isn't the right fit. If you care about how a job looks when it's finished — not just that it works — read on.
What the role looks like day-to-day
You'll work as part of a two-person team alongside a trainee, with a contracts manager and operations manager behind you. You won't be left to figure things out alone.
- Garden lighting installations, domestic rewires and upgrades, fault-finding, and commercial maintenance
- Materials pre-ordered and ready for collection each morning — no waiting at the wholesaler
- Scheduling, job info and certification managed through our CRM — test certs completed on a laptop and sent straight to the office
- No chasing paperwork. No being left in the dark
What we need from you
- Minimum 4 years on domestic/residential sites
- AM2 and 18th Edition qualified
- 2391 Testing & Inspection
- Full UK driving licence (clean)
- Own hand and power tools
Useful but not essential:
- Experience with external or garden lighting
What we offer
- £39,000–£44,000 depending on experience
- Company van, fuel card and laptop
- 25 days' holiday plus bank holidays, increasing by one day per year up to 30
- Your birthday off if it falls on a weekday
- Company pension
- Referral scheme
- Regular team socials
Training
We run the KG Academy every six weeks — an internal session covering new products, installation techniques and practical problem-solving. We support relevant external CPD where it makes sense.
