Job Summary
As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play a vital part in supporting both our clients and our care team. You’ll ensure our high standards are maintained, provide leadership and guidance to other carers, and help our clients live fulfilling and independent lives.
Driving is a requirement for this role.
Duties
- Delivering high-quality, person-centred care in clients’ homes – including personal care, medication support, and companionship.
- Supervising and mentoring care staff, ensuring care plans are followed and standards are met.
- Carrying out spot checks, shadow visits, and competency assessments.
- Supporting care coordinators with scheduling, reporting, and communication between clients and the office team.
- Maintaining accurate care records and ensuring compliance with CQC and company standards.
- Participating in on-call duties on a rota basis – offering advice, support, and assistance to carers out of hours when needed.
- Responding promptly to any urgent client or staff issues during on-call periods.
Skills
- Previous experience in a care setting or home care setting.
- Proficient in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to drive and have access to own vehicle.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and their families.
- Familiarity with IT systems for maintaining accurate care records is beneficial.
- Understanding of how to implement and adhere to individual care plans effectively.
- A caring attitude with a commitment to providing high-quality support to vulnerable individuals.
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Health & Social Care Qualifications (or working towards it).
