Life Skills Specialist
About the Role
Justteachers is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Life Skills Specialist to join a specialist educational setting in Grantham, supporting students from KS3 through to Post-16.
This rewarding role focuses on preparing young people for adulthood by developing their independence, confidence, employability, communication, and everyday living skills. You will work closely with students who may have a range of additional needs, including Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
The successful candidate will be passionate about helping young people achieve meaningful outcomes and develop the skills they need for life beyond education.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging life skills sessions to students from KS3 to Post-16.
- Support learners in developing independence, communication, and social skills.
- Teach practical life skills including budgeting, travel training, personal safety, healthy living, and employability skills.
- Encourage students to build confidence and prepare for adulthood.
- Support students during community-based learning activities and educational visits.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, parents, and external agencies.
- Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs and learning styles.
- Promote positive behaviour, emotional well-being, and student engagement.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- Experience working with children or young people in an educational, youth work, care, or support setting.
- Proven experience supporting the development of independence and life skills.
- Strong knowledge of SEND, autism, SEMH, or additional learning needs.
- The ability to build positive and professional relationships with young people.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and teamwork skills.
- A patient, proactive, and nurturing approach.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
- Two education or school-based references.
- The legal right to work in the UK.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: £120.00-£175.00 per day
