HOURS Full-time – including home Matchdays.
Key responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain the sports playing surfaces and facilities to the highest possible standards across both sites (Stadium and Training Ground)
- Assist on all operational aspects of the grounds department including preparation, maintenance, marking and renovations.
- Undertake all grounds management duties including but not limited to cutting, mowing, line marking, aerating, divotting, fertilising, sand application, strimming and brushing of artificial grass.
- Utilising and maintaining all relevant tools and machinery associated with the grounds department.
- Ensuring all pitches and areas are clean from litter, safe and ready to use as and when required.
- Accurately record technical data relating to pitch performance and product applications.
- Complete and maintain all administrative duties relevant to the role as required.
- Ensure health and safety in the workplace by ensuring compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act on all instructions relating to use, control, storage of materials/equipment and information/data collection necessary for the performance of tasks.
Essential qualifications:
- Level 2 qualification
- Horticulture/Sports Turf
- Hold a full driving licence.
Experience:
- Previous experience of working within the sports turf industry/ within professional football.
- Experience working to deadlines with high standards.
- Experience working under strict health and safety legislation relative the role.
- Proven experience and knowledge of the use, application and storage of a variety of chemical products including fertilizers and pesticides.
Skills:
- Competently operate a range of sports turf and horticultural machinery, such as: tractors, tractor attachments and ride on and pedestrian mowers.
- Ability to prepare and maintain sports turf to a high standard.
- Ability to plan and prioritise working at an energetic and efficient pace to ensure tasks are completed each
- day/week and in compliance with health and safety protocols.
- Ability to perform minor maintenance and repair tasks in a professional, effective, and safe manner.
- Basic IT Skills.
