Make a real impact through finance
Are you an experienced finance professional with a background in capital projects, social housing, or grant-funded programmes? Do you want your expertise to contribute to improving building safety and protecting communities?
About the role
We're looking for a Finance Partner to join our Finance team and play a key role in supporting our Cladding Safety Scheme (CSS) remediation programme. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside senior stakeholders, providing financial insight, governance and assurance across a high-profile capital investment programme funded by Homes England.
You'll be at the heart of financial planning, reporting and compliance, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, funding requirements are met, and financial risks are effectively managed.
The role – What You'll be doing
As Finance Partner, you'll provide expert financial support to the Building Safety Programme by:
- Partnering with project managers and senior stakeholders to provide financial advice and support decision-making.
- Managing project budgets, forecasts, cashflow and financial controls.
- Monitoring capital expenditure, analysing variances and identifying financial risks.
- Preparing accurate financial reports for senior leadership, Board Committees and Homes England.
- Supporting funding claims and ensuring compliance with Homes England grant requirements.
- Ensuring expenditure is correctly accounted for, including capitalisation, grant accounting and fixed assets.
- Maintaining robust financial governance, audit trails and internal controls.
- Supporting month-end reporting, business planning and financial forecasting.
- Working collaboratively with Asset Management, Building Safety, Procurement and external partners throughout the programme lifecycle.
What we're looking for
- We're looking for a proactive and commercially minded finance professional who enjoys partnering with stakeholders, influencing decision-making, and ensuring strong financial governance across large-scale capital programmes.
- Experience in social housing, building safety, construction, infrastructure, or public sector capital projects.
- Knowledge of capital accounting, fixed asset accounting, and grant-funded projects.
- An understanding of Homes England funding programmes and grant compliance requirements.
- Experience supporting complex capital programmes, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and variance analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.
- The ability to communicate financial information clearly and confidently to non-finance stakeholders.
- A collaborative approach, with the confidence to challenge constructively and build strong working relationships.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Part-qualified or fully qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA (or equivalent), or actively working towards a professional accounting qualification.
- Experience with housing management or finance systems would be an advantage but is not essential.
