Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Health Care Assistant to join our team within a reputable care home specialising in senior care. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, and a compassionate approach to supporting our residents. This role offers an opportunity to lead and supervise care staff while ensuring the delivery of high-quality personalised care. A valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate transportation needs associated with the role.
Duties
- Supervise and support junior care staff, ensuring adherence to care standards and organisational policies
- Develop, implement, and review personalised care plans in collaboration with residents, families, and healthcare professionals
- Provide direct personal care to residents, including assistance with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and medication management
- Monitor residents’ health and wellbeing, reporting any concerns promptly to healthcare providers
- Lead by example in delivering compassionate, respectful, and dignified care at all times
- Organise and participate in team meetings, training sessions, and supervision activities to promote continuous professional development
- Maintain accurate documentation of care activities using IT systems and ensure compliance with data protection regulations
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, colleagues, and external healthcare professionals to foster a supportive environment
Experience
- Proven supervisory experience within a care home or senior care setting is essential
- Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team of care assistants
- Experience in developing and managing care plans tailored to individual needs
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to liaise effectively with diverse stakeholders
- Good IT literacy for maintaining accurate records and using relevant software systems
- Valid driving license is advantageous for transportation duties related to resident outings or appointments

- Mandatory Training
- Senior HCA Experience within Care Homes

- References 2x Covering 3 Years
