We are working with a leading distributor within the fire and security sector, supplying a wide range of market-leading products including CCTV, Access Control, Intruder Alarms, and Fire Detection systems.
Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Business Development Manager (BDM) to drive new business and develop key trade accounts across an assigned territory.
This is a field-based, hunter-focused sales role, suited to someone who thrives on winning new business, building long-term client relationships, and working in a technical B2B environment.
You will work closely with installers, electrical contractors, and system integrators, acting as a trusted advisor across both product selection and project delivery.
New Business Development

Identify, target, and win new accounts across the fire & security and electrical contractor market

Build and develop a strong pipeline of new opportunities within your territory
Account Management

Manage and grow existing trade accounts

Maximise cross-selling opportunities across all product categories

Drive long-term customer retention and account growth
Technical Sales & Consultation

Present and demonstrate technical security and fire product solutions

Support customers with system design input and product selection
Sales Strategy & Performance

Develop and execute a structured territory sales plan

Consistently achieve and exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets
CRM & Reporting

Maintain accurate CRM records and sales pipeline activity

Conduct market mapping and identify key target accounts
Partner Collaboration

Work closely with internal technical teams and key manufacturing partners

Support project bids and tailored solutions for larger opportunities
- 3-5+ years B2B sales experience in fire & security or electrical wholesale (essential)

Proven track record in a new business / hunter sales role

Strong technical understanding of security systems (CCTV, access control, fire systems etc.)

Confident communicator with excellent negotiation and presentation skills

Ability to build strong relationships with contractors and business owners

Full UK/Irish driving licence (required for field-based travel)
