You will be working within our residential services across the Bridgend area and surrounding locations, with placements subject to business needs. We are passionate about making changes and enhancing young people's lives. This role will involve caring for these often-vulnerable individuals, assisting them with day-to-day tasks, and supporting them as and when required, providing a safe and nurturing environment.
You will support children and young people in developing their independent living skills and accessing education and/or therapy, promote positive behaviour, help individuals manage their emotions and behaviours effectively, and build positive relationships with the young people themselves, their families, and other professionals involved in their care.
Requirements for the role:

Child-centred approach to care

Previous experience within children social care or transferable skill role is desirable.

Full UK driving licence (preferred)

NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care/Children and young people
- Basic understanding of children's human rights and safeguarding is essential.
What the role will include:

Supporting children and young adults between the ages of 0-18 years old with complex needs/or behavioural and emotional disorders.

To safeguard and support the well-being of the children and young adults.

Adhering to strict health and safety practice to ensure the welfare of the children and young people

Building a good rapport with the children and young adults as well as their families
- Writing accurate and detailed reports
- Keeping up to date with the childrens and young peoples care plans and risk assessments
- Adopting a child-centred approach to provide the best care to children and young people with complex health / emotional needs

Pay rates:

£16.64 an hour (long days + waking nights)

£12.50 sleep ins
