About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Pastoral Support Worker to join a supportive secondary school in Greenford on a 9-month maternity cover basis. This role is ideal for someone with a strong youth work and pastoral background, who is passionate about supporting young people both academically and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide pastoral care and support to students across KS3 and KS4
- Build strong, positive relationships with pupils to promote engagement and wellbeing
- Support students with social, emotional and behavioural needs
- Work alongside teaching staff, safeguarding leads and external agencies
- Assist with behaviour management strategies and interventions
- Act as a mentor and role model for vulnerable or at-risk students
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Youth Worker or Pastoral Support Worker (essential)
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and student wellbeing
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage challenging behaviour with confidence and resilience
- Passionate about supporting young people and making a difference
