Salary: Grade 9 £40,778 - £45,092 (pay award pending)
Contract type: Temporary (9 Months- July 2026 until July 2027), Full Time, 37 hours per week

Doncaster Children’s Services are looking for a qualified and experienced social worker to join our Children in Care team from July 2026 until April 2027. This is to cover maternity leave. The children in Care service is committed to relationship-based practice and trauma-informed approaches, working with some of the most vulnerable children and young people in our care to make lasting, positive change.

What are we asking from you?

You will have a suitable social work qualification (BA / MA in Social Work or Diploma in Social Work).
- You will be registered with Social Work England.
- Experience of working with Children in Care, or other related fields within children’s services.
- Have a sound understanding of case management including; holistic assessment, creating bespoke care plans and ensuring plans are reviewed in a timely manner.
- Ensure the child’s voice informs their approach.
- An ability to build strong relationships with children, their families, colleagues, and partner agencies.
- To be able to support families to make positive changes and enable children to meet their potential.
- A focus on supporting families to help them resolve their challenges.
- You will be confident working in fast-paced and complex environments.
- You will be familiar with the Families First agenda
- You will have commitment to provide children in care with the support they need to thrive.
- To focus on your own continuing professional development.
- Motivation and resilience.
