Overview
We are looking for a reliable, experienced Van Driver to join our fresh produce wholesale team, delivering high-quality fruit and vegetables to top restaurants, hotels, and kitchens across West London. This successful person will also be required to pick and pack orders to the highest quality to meet the demands of London's most celebrated kitchens.
Duties
- Safely operate company vans to deliver fresh fruit and vegetables to trade customers in the West London area.
- Early starts required (typical for fresh produce delivery)
- Plan delivery routes effectively to optimise efficiency and punctuality.
- Load and unload produce, ensuring items are handled with care to prevent damage.
- Building strong relationships with chefs and kitchen teams.
- Assist with warehouse tasks including stock organisation and inventory checks when not on deliveries.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and warehouse teams regarding delivery schedules or delays.
- Adhere strictly to road safety regulations and company policies during all driving activities.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar commercial driving role.
- Valid Full UK driver’s licence with a clean driving record.
- Experience in warehouse operations or logistics is advantageous.
- Knowledge of fresh produce essential.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely, handling loads of up to 25kg or more regularly.
- A customer- focused strong communicator with skills for liaising with clients and team members professionally.
- Knowledge of local routes and traffic regulations within the area is preferred.
- Organised with excellent time management skills to meet tight schedules.
- Physical fitness to manage the demands of loading, unloading, and long periods of driving.
