At Northcote House, we are on the lookout for a passionate and committed Nursery chef!
You will play a key role in supporting children’s wellbeing by planning and preparing balanced meals and snacks that meet dietary, allergy, and cultural requirements in a safe and hygienic kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and cook fresh, healthy meals and snacks daily
- Cater for allergies, intolerances, and special dietary requirements
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene, safety, and cleanliness
- Ensure compliance with Food Safety and Environmental Health regulations
- Work closely with nursery staff to promote healthy eating habits
- Keep accurate records in line with safeguarding and health & safety policies
About You
- Experience as a chef or cook, ideally in a nursery, school, or similar setting
- Level 2/3 Food Hygiene Certificate
- Knowledge of children’s nutritional needs
- Strong organisation and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and efficiently
- A positive, friendly attitude and team-focused approach
- Passion for providing healthy, high-quality meals for children
