Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Wagon Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating wagons and specialised vehicles to transport materials across various sites. This role requires a good understanding of mechanical systems, commercial driving regulations, and the ability to operate hiab when necessary. The Wagon Driver will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth and safe movement of goods, contributing to the efficiency of our operations.
Duties
- Safely operate wagons and specialised vehicles in accordance with road safety regulations and company policies.
- Transport materials, equipment, and personnel between designated locations efficiently and securely.
- Assist with loading and unloading cargo, ensuring proper securing of loads to prevent damage or accidents.
- Operate hiab as required, demonstrating mechanical knowledge and proficiency.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections to ensure safety standards are maintained; report any faults or issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of trips, cargo, and vehicle maintenance logs.
- Follow all health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment at all times.
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial driving, preferably with wagons or similar specialised vehicles.
- Mechanical knowledge related to vehicle maintenance and operation of hiab or other construction machinery is highly desirable.
- Valid driving licence suitable for commercial vehicles; additional certifications as required
- Familiarity with road safety regulations and best practices for transporting heavy or hazardous materials.
- Prior experience working in construction, logistics, or related industries will be considered an asset.
