Overview
The Care Team Leader plays a crucial role in overseeing the delivery of high-quality care within a care home setting. This position requires strong leadership skills and the ability to effectively communicate with both staff and residents. The Care Team Leader will be responsible for ensuring that care plans are implemented effectively, while also fostering a supportive environment for both residents and team members.
Duties
- Supervise and support care staff in their daily duties, ensuring compliance with care plans and organisational policies.
- Drive the implementation of individualised care plans, adapting them as necessary to meet the changing needs of residents.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to care.
- Conduct regular assessments of resident needs and preferences, ensuring that these are reflected in their care plans.
- Lead team meetings and training sessions to promote best practices in senior care and enhance staff skills.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to resident care and team performance using IT systems.
- Foster a positive team environment that encourages collaboration, respect, and professional growth among staff members.
Skills
- Proven experience in supervising staff within a care home or similar environment.
- Strong understanding of senior care practices and the ability to implement effective care plans.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage with diverse groups including residents, families, and professionals.
- Proficient IT skills for maintaining documentation and managing resident information systems.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with a focus on team development and motivation.
