Working hours for this role are Monday-Friday 7am - 3pm
Responsibilities
- Carry out electrical installation, maintenance, inspection, testing, and fault-finding activities
- Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive remedial works Install, modify, repair, and replace electrical equipment including switchgear, distribution boards, containment, cabling, motors, controls, and associated systems
- Diagnose faults and implement effective technical solutions
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, specifications, and technical documentation
- Support commissioning and functional testing activities
- Ensure all works comply with BS 7671, ECS procedures, and client technical standards
- Complete site documentation including RAMS, permits, inspection records, test certificates, and commissioning sheets
- Always maintain safe isolation and safe systems of work
- Identify defects, risks, technical issues, and improvement opportunities, escalating where necessary
- Maintain high standards of workmanship, housekeeping, and professionalism on site
- Support project delivery teams in achieving programme, quality, and client objectives
- Support mechanical and MEICA installation activities where required within competency limits
- Responsibility for company vehicle, tools, and equipment
- Will work away from home on occasions when travelling is not in the best interest of the company, (this will tend to be Monday – Friday, weekends back home)
Skills & Experience - Essential
- Recognised electrical qualification essential (Electrical Apprenticeship / NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- ECS / JIB Gold Card or equivalent industry-recognised competency card
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in industrial, commercial, or infrastructure electrical works
- Strong technical understanding of electrical installations and safe isolation procedures
- Experience in maintenance, fault finding, and installation works
- Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics
- Strong understanding of health and safety requirement
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- Full UK driving licence
Skills & Experience - Desirable
- Inspection and Testing (2391 or equivalent)
- Experience working on water utility or industrial assets
- Experience with MCCs, motors, pumps, PLC panels, and control systems
- Confined Space training
- LV authorised person / switching experience
- HV awareness or authorisation
- IPAF / PASMA / CPCS / lifting operations
- First Aid
- SSSTS or equivalent safety training
- MEICA experience
- Commissioning experience
