We’re looking for the right person, not perfection. If you’re passionate about youth work, confident supporting others and ready to grow into a leadership role, we’ll help you develop the rest. Your attitude matters more than ticking every box.
Overview
About the Role
4Youth (South West) delivers safe, engaging and inclusive youth work across Melksham, Westbury and nearby communities. We are recruiting a Youth Work Manager to coordinate our youth work programme, support staff, oversee quality and ensure young people’s voices shape what we do.
This is a strategic coordination role, not a full‑time operational one. You will plan, support and oversee delivery - not run every session. The role is designed to be achievable within 10 hours a week, with clear weekly tasks and predictable rhythms.
You will work closely with the Director, TeenTalk Manager and Admin Manager as part of our Senior Leadership Team.
How This Role Works in 10 Hours a Week
This role is intentionally structured to be manageable within 10 hours. The weekly programme is stable and predictable. Each club has its own Lead Worker and session team.
Your responsibilities fit into clear weekly blocks, such as:
- rota updates
- staff supervision (on rotation)
- safeguarding follow‑up
- planning oversight
- monitoring and reporting
- social media scheduling
- occasional in‑person observations
You are not expected to attend every session, and you are not the primary deliverer. Safeguarding leadership is shared, and the Director handles HR compliance. Meetings are occasional and planned in advance.
This is a focused, well‑bounded management role designed for someone who is organised, values‑driven and able to coordinate people and processes efficiently.
