Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Warehouse Operative/Picker to join our busy logistics team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient handling, storage, and dispatch of goods within our warehouse. Duties
- Accurately picking and packing orders according to customer specifications using warehouse management systems
- Loading and unloading goods from lorries, ensuring proper handling and safety procedures are followed
- Stocking shelves and storage areas, maintaining organisation and accessibility of stock
- Operating forklift trucks and other mechanical equipment safely (training provided)
- Managing shipping and receiving processes, including documentation and inventory updates
- Conducting quality control checks to ensure products meet company standards
- Assisting with stock rotation and cycle counts to maintain accurate stock levels
- Ensuring the warehouse environment is clean, safe, and compliant with health & safety regulations
Qualifications
- Previous experience in warehousing or logistics is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for all necessary equipment and systems
- Knowledge of materials handling, picking & packing, shipping & receiving processes
- Ability to operate forklift trucks or willingness to learn (training provided)
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems is advantageous
- Mechanical knowledge or experience with warehouse equipment is a plus
- Physical fitness with the ability to lift heavy loads safely (up to 25kg) and perform manual handling tasks regularly
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail for stock accuracy and quality control
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
