Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Ground Worker to join our team, supporting various construction and maintenance projects. The successful candidate will assist with site preparation and ground maintenance. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in construction work to develop practical skills in a dynamic environment. A background in construction is advantageous. The position involves working outdoors in all weather conditions and requires physical stamina and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for various tasks
- Support excavation activities using excavators and other machinery as required (relevant tickets to be provided)
- Perform general site maintenance such as clearing debris, levelling ground and preparing surfaces for construction.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment and tools to ensure safety standards are met
- Laying foundations, drainage, kerbs, and slabs
- Support the team with construction-related tasks including material handling and site organisation
- Follow health and safety protocols at all times during site operations
Experience
- CSCS card
- Full UK driving licence
- Previous experience in construction is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Mechanical knowledge or experience with power tools, irrigation systems, or excavators is advantageous
- Familiarity with hand tools and basic maintenance procedures is preferred
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail are essential for maintaining safety standards and quality of work
