Purpose of the Role:
The Logistics & Materials Controller is responsible for the safe, efficient, and accurate management of warehouse materials, raw materials, accessories, and finished goods to support production operations and customer demand.
The role oversees the receipt, storage, movement, and dispatch of materials across the business while maintaining high levels of stock accuracy. The position plays a key role in investigating stock discrepancies, supporting production supply, and ensuring efficient warehouse and inventory operations in line with company health, safety, and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Logistics & Warehouse Operations
- Coordinate the safe receipt, storage, and movement of materials within the warehouse.
- Receive deliveries of goods and supplies, checking items against delivery documentation and reporting damaged or missing items.
- Ensure materials are stored correctly and rotated appropriately using manual handling methods or mechanical handling equipment.
- Pick, pack, and prepare orders for dispatch in line with customer requirements.
- Ensure timely delivery of materials to production lines in accordance with production schedules.
- Support dispatch and accessories operations to ensure customer demand is met.
- Maintain clean, organised, and safe warehouse areas to support operational efficiency.
Materials & Inventory Control
- Maintain accurate inventory records using the company’s computerised stock management system.
- Carry out cyclical stock takes and regular stock counts across raw materials, accessories, and warehouse inventory.
- Investigate stock discrepancies, out-of-stock issues, and inventory inaccuracies, updating systems in line with company procedures.
- Investigate and resolve Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) relating to dispatch and assembly.
- Monitor stock levels and highlight potential shortages that could impact production or customer delivery.
- Ensure stock documentation and records are accurate and maintained appropriately.
Operational Support
- Work closely with production, dispatch, and warehouse teams to ensure efficient material flow across the business.
- Assist with warehouse and logistics activities where required to support operational demand.
- Provide support during stock audits and inventory checks.

Qualifications & Experience Levels:
· Previous experience in warehouse, logistics, or inventory control desirable but not essential.
· Forklift Truck (FLT) licence and/or licence to operate assisted lifting equipment essential.
· Lean Manufacturing knowledge or qualification desirable.
