The function of the post is to provide a professional, confidential and comprehensive administration service to the designated manager to enable them to undertake their operational and managerial roles. provision of clerical administration. To provide support to the provision of clerical administration within the Service.
- Provide information service for elective patients (including distressed and anxious patients/relatives as required). Be aware of the needs and concerns of patients and provide a friendly, efficient and courteous service to patients, relatives and visitors, providing them with advice and information as appropriate. Use empathetic approach to patients and/or relatives seeking assistance from clinical staff/senior managers as appropriate.
- To ensure that the information on referral letters, outpatient status forms and waiting list cards are recorded accurately and comprehensively on the Trust PAS system(s). Amend PAS letters and patient leaflets to ensure that information distributed to patients is accurate and current.
- Undertake general office administrative duties.
- Review incoming e-mails and action accordingly.
- To ensure all correspondence produced is in accordance with the required corporate standards employed by the Directorate and the Trust..
- To provide administrative support to consultant/clinical teams.. Attend regular meetings with consultant teams, MDT teams, clinical staff, clinical directorates /departments and/or general managers as required.
- To provide admin support for the Gastroenterology service, including cross covering colleagues during periods of leave.
- Advanced keyboards skills required to type with speed and accuracy to produce all necessary correspondence connected with the clinical activities of the department
