Sequentis works closely with its school provision under a shared vision and ownership. The role supports activity across both settings in line with organisational need. Sequentis was initially established to support internal staff development and is now evolving as an independent trading training company with a broader external reach.
Role Overview:
Sequentis is seeking an inspirational, forward-thinking professional to lead the development, quality and growth of its vocational teacher education and training provision. This is a senior role combining responsibility for course and assignment design, training delivery, assessment and quality assurance, alongside mentoring, school partnership work and enterprise development.
This role is suited to someone who is open minded, flexible, visionary and entrepreneurial, and who is ready for a different professional challenge beyond a traditional role.
Key Responsibilities:
Vocational Training Enterprise Responsibilities:
- Design, develop and review vocational courses in line with awarding body specifications
- Create compliant assignments, assessment briefs, learning materials and schemes of work
- Deliver and quality assure vocational qualifications linked to the education sector, including but not limited to AET Level 3 and DiT Level 5
- Deliver and or quality assure sector relevant programmes including Children’s Residential Care and Early Years
- Lead assessment, internal verification, standardisation and EQA readiness
- Support, mentor and develop tutors, assessors and trainee teachers
- Contribute to marketing, recruitment, partnerships and the growth strategy of Sequentis
- Support the development of new vocational pathways aligned to workforce needs
Teacher Education, Mentoring and School Partnerships:
- Act as a senior mentor and professional lead for trainee teachers and vocational practitioners
- Support and challenge trainees to bridge theory and effective practice
- Work closely with school-based mentors to ensure consistent high-quality support
- Undertake visits to partner schools and settings to observe practice and provide feedback
- Assure the quality of mentoring, training delivery and professional support across provision
- Promote reflective practice, professional dialogue and strong pedagogy
Quality of Teaching and Professional Development:
- Ensure schools and settings worked with maintain high quality teaching and learning
- Lead Quality First Teaching CPD where required
- Design and deliver CPD modules including trauma informed practice, SEND and SEMH, inclusive pedagogy and effective teaching methodologies
- Support staff to embed appropriate pedagogy and evidence informed practice
- Think creatively and work outside traditional models to improve teaching and professional learning
- Undertake research to identify and share best practice
- Network with local schools to share good practice and innovation
- Facilitate reciprocal learning opportunities including staff swaps, shadowing and collaborative practice
Essential Criteria:
- Qualified Teacher Status or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills
- Experience in delivering vocational qualifications linked to the education sector, including but not limited to AET Level 3 and DiT Level 5
- Strong understanding of awarding body requirements, assessment and quality assurance processes
- Experience designing vocational courses and compliant assignments
- Experience observing teaching and providing developmental feedback
- Strong organisational, communication and leadership skills
Desirable Criteria:
- Assessor qualification such as CAVA, A1 or D32 D33
- Internal Quality Assurer qualification such as TAQA IQA, V1 or D34
- Experience delivering and or quality assuring Children’s Residential Care and or Early Years qualifications
- Experience working across both school and vocational or further education sectors
- Experience contributing to partnership development, marketing or enterprise growth
