Organisation: Dizzy Heights In Collab with Northwood Community Sports Location: Northwood Stadium (delivery site)
Hours: 10 hours per week Pay: £20 per hour (£200 per week)
Working Pattern:
· Monday Evening – 2.5 hour session delivery
· Friday Evening – 2.5 hour session delivery
· Remaining hours used for planning, management, and development
Role Overview
Dizzy Heights is looking for a proactive and reliable Sports Based Youth Project Lead to run and develop sport-based youth provision at Northwood Stadium.
This is a hands-on role. You’ll be delivering sessions, leading staff, and shaping how the provision grows. The sessions are currently football-based, and the expectation is that you build on this by bringing more structure, consistency, and direction to what’s already in place.
You’ll also be responsible for making sure staff are supported, sessions run properly, and the overall offer keeps improving.
Key Responsibilities
Session Delivery (5 hours per week)
· Plan and deliver sport-based youth sessions on
- Mondays (2.5 hours)
- Fridays (2.5 hours)
· Use football to engage young people and support confidence, teamwork, and managing emotions
· Make sure sessions are structured, inclusive, and run to a high standard
· Complete basic planning before sessions and short evaluations after
· Spot opportunities for young people to progress and try new things
Project Development and Staff Management (5 hours per week)
Staff Management & Leadership
· Line manage part-time youth work staff
· Provide regular supervision and check-ins
· Set clear expectations and lead by example
· Deal with any challenges within sessions in a solution focussed manor
· Identify where staff need support or training
· Keep standards consistent across both sessions
Project Development, Monitoring & Coordination
· Lead the development of both weekly sessions, which are currently football-based
· Bring more structure to delivery so sessions are consistent and purposeful
· Develop a simple friendly league across both nights, giving young people something to work towards
· Use this as a base to build further opportunities within sport or other young provision
· Identify how the project can grow beyond open access sessions into something with more direction
· Create opportunities for young people to get involved beyond attending, including volunteering
· Support and develop volunteers so they gain confidence and useful experience
· Track attendance, engagement, and general progress of sessions through weekly evaluations
· Produce a monthly report covering what’s been happening, key outcomes, and real examples of impact (including short case studies and good news stories)
Partnership & Communication
· Link in with the wider teams across Dizzy Heights and Northwood
· Keep communication clear between staff, partners, and management
· Attend monthly management meetings
· Share updates where needed, especially around progress and any issues
· Link in with Northwood and Dizzy Heights Marketing to share progress and good news stories.
Person Specification
We’re looking for someone who:
· Can lead– confident managing people, making decisions, and setting standards

· Has experience working with young people – ideally in youth work, sport, or similar settings
· Can use football to engage – understands how to use it as a tool, not just run games
· Builds strong relationships – with young people, staff, and volunteers
· Stays organised – plans ahead and keeps things running smoothly
· Handles challenges well – stays calm and deals with issues focussing on solutions
· Can show impact – able to track what’s happening and explain the difference the work is making
· Supports others to improve – helps staff and volunteers step up
· Able to work evenings and unsociable hours as required to meet the needs of the provision
Additional Information
· Delivery takes place at Northwood Stadium, but the role is employed through Dizzy Heights
· Exact working hours outside of sessions to be agreed
· Some flexibility will be required depending on the needs of the provision
Pay: £20.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
