What You’ll Be Doing
We are looking for an experienced and motivated football coach to lead the Women’s University First Team programme. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in developing players, supporting student coaches, and driving high performance within a thriving women’s football environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and deliver weekly training sessions for the 1st team (twice weekly evenings)
Select and manage the 1st team squad, working collaboratively with 2nd and 3rd team coaches
Attend and support home and away fixtures
Develop and deliver a holistic programme, including collaboration with S&C staff
Support talent identification, recruitment, and selection processes across all teams
Provide 1:1 and small group coaching, including player development and performance feedback
Mentor and support student coaches within the Leadership Academy
Liaise with university partners, recruitment agencies, and prospective students
Support recruitment of scholarship athletes and attend Fresher’s Fairs
Coordinate weekly with the Athletic Union (AU) on fixtures, logistics, and administration
Promote student wellbeing and provide pastoral support
Manage behavioural and disciplinary matters in line with university guidelines
Build relationships with local clubs, schools, and community partners to enhance recruitment
What We’re Looking For
Strong understanding of football pathways and competitive structures
Proven experience coaching and developing players across varying levels
Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
A commitment to continuous professional development and supporting others' growth
You’ll have:
A UEFA B Licence (minimum requirement)
FA Safeguarding qualification and First Aid certification
Degree-level education or equivalent experience
Experience
Experience in planning, delivering, and evaluating coaching programmes
Experience managing squads, fixtures, and player development
Confidence working with stakeholders across education and sport environments
