We are looking for a motivated Service Desk Audio Visual Engineer to join our team. This is an office-based role supporting our engineering team, clients, and projects by managing service requests, coordinating engineers, and assisting with AV rental and webcasting operations.
Role Overview
The Service Desk AV Engineer will act as the central coordination point for technical support, service operations, and rental logistics. You will manage incoming support requests, schedule engineers, assist with project coordination, and ensure all compliance and documentation requirements are met.
This role requires strong organisational skills, good technical understanding of AV systems, and the ability to work in a fast-paced support environment.
Key Responsibilities
Service Desk & Technical Support
- Manage and respond to support tickets from clients and internal teams
- Handle incoming support calls and provide first-line troubleshooting
- Escalate technical issues to engineers where required
- Maintain accurate records of service requests and resolutions
Engineering Coordination
- Schedule and coordinate engineer bookings for service visits and installations
- Organise service visits and maintain engineer calendars
- Assist with site survey coordination and reporting
Rental Operations
- Coordinate AV rental equipment bookings and logistics
- Support the planning and preparation of rental projects
Project Support
- Assist with project coordination for installations and AV deployments
- Provide webcasting backup support during events or technical operations
Compliance & Documentation
- Prepare and manage RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements)
- Maintain compliance paperwork and service documentation
- Support the management and administration of service contracts
Backup / Additional Responsibilities
During peak periods or staff holidays, the role may also support:
- Webcasting operations
- Additional rental coordination
- Organising service visits
- Assisting with site surveys
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Basic knowledge of audio visual systems and equipment
- Strong organisational and scheduling skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Good IT skills (ticketing systems, email, spreadsheets)
Desirable
- Experience working in an AV service desk or technical support role
- Knowledge of webcasting or streaming systems
- Understanding of AV installations and event production
- Experience preparing RAMS documentation
